Tsunami

This section is going to short and to the point. The reason is that there really isn’t much to discuss on this type of disaster…

A Tsunami is linked to undersea earthquakes. These types of quakes create a series of waves which can reach more than 98 ft (30 m) high and can cause a considerable amount of damage along coastlines.

Tsunami warnings are issued from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric’s (NOAA) Pacific Tsunami Warning System headquarters in Hawaii.

Not all earthquakes cause Tsunami waves, but any earthquake could. If near the beach, keep away from shores and take to higher ground when there are any tremors.

DO NOT go to look for a Tsunami – if you are close enough to see the waves, you are too close to escape it, unless you are high above its level.

There is little defense against a wall of moving water. EVACUATE!
